Welcome to my dyslexia class!

 

I am looking forward to an exciting and successful new school year with you. During this course, you will strengthen your knowledge of reading, writing, inquiry, listening, and speaking skills. This class will provide you with the foundational tools to understand how to read and why these important skills are life changing.

 

We will be using the district program called MTA for Multi-sensory Teaching Approach to help develop and enhance these important reading and spelling areas. This is an explicit and systematic program that is designed specifically for dyslexia students. We will also be using a wonderful resource for listening to audio books. This program is called Learning Ally and students are automatically enrolled and able to utilize this feature for free! Students should be learning 10 to 30 minutes a day to continue supporting their reading journey. 

 

This year, I will also be using the communication program Parent Square to reach out with upcoming due assignments, tests, announcements, to better supplement the expectations and requirements in my classroom.

- library book
