Nydia Tijerina

Hello, I’m the Spanish teacher, and I’m very blessed to be part of the MVMS family and to live in this beautiful community.  This is my 4th year at MVMS and my 18th year as a teacher.  Our family moved here from Alamo Ranch in San Antonio where I taught at Northside ISD for the last nine years as a bilingual/ESL elementary teacher and then a high school Spanish teacher.  Prior to that I lived in Laredo, Texas where I taught for Laredo ISD in an inner city school for six years.  I have been married for 25 years to a Navy veteran.  I have 3 children, one of them is a science teacher in Laredo, one is a safety professional, and one of them currently attends Hill Country College Prep High School.  We love nature and we spend most of our time together as a family, either gardening, kayaking, visiting antique stores, and going to church every Sunday.  I love getting to know all my students and I’m looking forward to meeting their families.
