Superintendent Kim Appointed Chair of TEA Policy Committee on Public Education Information

Comal Independent School District’s Superintendent Andrew Kim was appointed recently as chair of the Policy Committee on Public Education Information (PCPEI). Texas Commissioner of Education Mike Morath made the appointment.

Superintendent Kim received notification of his appointment as the chair of the committee in late April. Comprised of superintendents from school districts and charter schools across the state, the PCPEI decides how policy is implemented and data is recorded in Texas public schools. Kim was appointed as a member of the committee almost one year ago.

“I am honored to be selected as the chair of this committee,” Kim says, “and I look forward to continuing to work with my colleagues across the state to benefit each of our students, teachers and staff members.”

Besides the PCPEI committee, Kim serves on the board of directors for the Texas State University’s Texas School Safety Center. He was named by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott as presiding Officer to the Texas Commission on Next Generation Assessments and Accountability in 2016 and selected to Lt. Governor Dan Patrick’s School Superintendent Advisory in 2018.

Congratulations, and thank you, Mr. Kim!
